Infectious diseases in experimental animals are a factor that greatly affects animal experiments. It is listed, in the standards for the care and storage of experimental animals and the alleviation of suffering, the 3rd common standard states that "strive to maintain the health and safety of experimental animals" and "perform necessary health management such as prevention of disease". It is the basis of animal experiments that experimental animals are kept healthy and used for experiments. Microbial monitoring for the early detection of infectious diseases in experimental animals is outlined, and the effects of currently prevalent infectious diseases on experiments are explained.
